Perry Prosthetics hosts CEU courses in order to provide education to rehabilitation professionals and equip them with the latest and most technologically advanced information and techniques related to amputee rehabilitation. By equipping them with this information, the rehab professionals (PTs, OTs, prosthetists, nurses, etc.) are able to provide their patients with a higher quality of care and will feel more confident with the treatment plan for their patient.
At past courses, we have featured Robert S. Gailey, PhD PT, an associate professor who has lectured extensively around the world on a variety of topics related to orthopedics, prosthetics and sports medicine for athletes with disabilities. He has authored over 50 publications and has continued research efforts directed towards amputee rehabilitation, the biomechanics and metabolic cost of prosthetic gait, functional assessment and athletic pursuits of the amputee, as well as other athletes with disabilities across the life span. Perry Prosthetics also hosts Upper Limb Clinics, focusing solely on the rehabilitation of upper limb amputees and how to utilize and fit the latest technology for each patient. In 2011, The Upper Limb Clinic featured Bambi Lombardi, OTR/L, a leader in myoelectric technology for over 30 years and a part of the Professional and Clinical Services of Otto Bock HealthCare.
